I loved listening to this podcast this week. I'm a big fan of Call to the Land, Rob Havard's podcast - there's some really great content grounded in stories of context and practice.
This week there was a special personal connection to the content for me. I have been busy writing my talk for Scottish Smallholding & Countryside Festival where I’m tracing our journey at The Lint Mill into small-scale farming. Just like Nikki Yoxall describes for her, our regenerative story really begins with meeting Rob Havard in 2018 at a Soil Association event called ‘Buzzing about Grassland’ and they both get creditable mentions in my talk.
Nikki talks to us about her journey from working in education to running a cattle business with her Husband James in the Scottish Highlands. They also cover her travels with her Nuffield and how she's seen the importance of business skills for farm resilience through her training work with Pasture for Life.
